More than Php105K worth of Shabu seized; 2 suspects arrested in Caraga Region
Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City—– A total of Php105,600 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated and two drug suspects, one of which is listed in Regional Target List (High Value Individual), were successfully arrested in two separate buy-bust operations conducted on August 25.
Police Brigadier General Joselito T Esquivel, Jr, Police Regional Office 13 Director, identified the arrested drug suspects as Kris Angelo Mejica Caingles alias Pawpaw, 25 years old, single, and a resident of Purok 2A, Village 2, Barangay Libertad, Butuan City and Junalyn Cudillo Ferol, 45 years old, female, resident of Espina Zabala, Brgy. Taft Surigao City, and a High Value Individual.
The region’s top cop disclosed that alias Pawpaw was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted around 6:38PM in Purok 4, J. Satorre St., Barangay Holy Redeemer, Butuan City by joint elements of Butuan City Police Office and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Agusan del Norte.
Confiscated from the suspect were six sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 15 grams with Dangerous Drug Board value of Php102,000.00, Php25,000 marked money and drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, Junalyn Cudillo Ferol was arrested during buy-bust operation conducted around 2:45PM in Purok 9, Punta Bilang-Bilang Borromeo Street, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City by joint Drug Enforcement Unit operatives of Surigao City Police Station and Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office.
Confiscated from Junalyn’s possession were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.2 gram with DDB value of Php3,600.00 and P1,000.00 marked money.
PBGEN Esquivel, Jr said that arrested drug suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
“Rest assured that PNP Caraga’s campaign against all forms of criminality, including illegal drugs, will be relentlessly pursued in the region despite of the threats brought by corona virus disease,” the region’s top cop stressed out.
