My beloved Surigaonons, We know that the news that Surigao City is already one of the localities in CARAGA that have local transmission of COVID-19 has been an unpleasant development to all of us.
Our hospitals have reported a rising numbers of admissions for patients with infectious respiratory diseases, some with severe flu-like symptoms. And because of this, our private and public hospitals have reached their full capacity.
Covid-19 can infect anyone. It is with deep regret to inform you that your Vice Mayor has been confirmed to have contracted CoVid-19.
I call on all persons who may have been in close contact with me from September 19-25, 2020 to please inform the City Health Office so they can monitor your health and for contact tracing purposes.
As of the moment, I have already informed the City Health Office and as advice followed their protocol. My current condition is stable although I showed signs of early symptoms.
I also call on all Surigaonons to observe health protocols to prevent the spread of CoVid-19 virus. Stay safe at home; wash your hands with soap and water or use alcohol; always wear face mask and face shield; maintain physical distance; and avoid mass gathering.
Continue to pray for complete healing of those who contracted the disease and ask God’s protection for our people.
